    • Pet/s must be spayed or neutered, or will be within an agreed-upon time frame.
    • Applicant must apply for Care Credit prior to contacting the Yolo County SPCA.
    • Proof of low-income status required.
    • Pet must have a favorable diagnosis
    • Pet must have a treatment plan in place.

    • No funds for emergency veterinary care.
    • No funds for cosmetic treatments.
    • Pets with behavioral and/or temperament problems will not be candidates for funding.

    The Helping Friends program gives seniors, people with disabilities, terminal illnesses, and individuals on fixed incomes the extra support they need to care for their animals.

    Free veterinary care to companion animals of homeless San Franciscans.  This includes:

    • On-site veterinary wellness exams including vaccinations, routine procedures, and laboratory testing
    • Rabies certificates
    • Microchip implantation and registration
    • Distribution of animal food, leashes, collars, and other pet supplies
    • Referral and transportation to free spay/neuter surgery & other veterinary care
    • Limited emergency services.

    • Pet must be between 17 weeks and 5 years old.
    • Must weigh a minimum of 2 pounds.
    • Must be current distemper combo and rabies vaccination.

    Mobile spay/neuter clinic:

    • Pet must be between 17 weeks and 6 years old.
    • Must  weight 2 – 40 pounds.
